The next article comes from Electronic Frontier Foundation. Why won't the FBI tell the public about it Drone Program by Jennifer Lynch was posted on June 20, 2013.

Today we’re publishing—for the first time—the FBI’s drone licenses and supporting records for the last several years. Unfortunately, to say that the FBI has been less than forthcoming with these records would be a gross understatement.

Just yesterday, Wired broke the story that the FBI has been using drones to surveil Americans. Wired noted that, during an FBI oversight hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, FBI Director Robert Mueller let slip that the FBI flies surveillance drones on American soil. Mueller tried to reassure the senators that FBI’s drone program “is very narrowly focused on particularized cases and particularized leads.” However, there’s no way to check the Director on these statements, given the Bureau’s extreme lack of transparency about its program.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has responded angrily to reports that the National Security Agency (NSA) in the US is alleged to be gathering data on private US citizens. It is understood one of the United States’ largest telecoms operators Verizon was issued with a top secret court order in April to hand over telephone records of millions of its customers.

I found an article How the NSA leaks may help EFF sue the government into defending its bulk surveillance program by Cory Doctorow that was posted June 18, 2013. Here some of article below:

The "other shoe" in the Edward Snowden NSA leaks has been the potential effect of all these disclosures on the Electronic Frontier Foundation's efforts to force the government to account for itself in court. Since 2005 -- when Mark Klein, a former AT&T worker came into EFF's offices with documentary evidence of a secret room at AT&T's Folsom Street switching center, where the NSA was effectively making a copy of all the traffic on AT&T's network without a warrant -- the EFF has been trying to get the government to explain to a judge why they think this kind of bulk surveillance is legal.
