A Message from Electronic Frontier Foundation

I got emailed from the Electronic Frontier Foundation that I want share to you. The Congress postponed the COICA Bill vote but this bill may come next year.

Dear Grace,

Great news! The messages you and others sent to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee this week asking them to postpone the scheduled markup of the "Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act" (COICA) worked! The Senate adjourned for its October recess without moving the bill out of committee, giving us more time to remind legislators why any bill that interferes with the infrastructure of the Internet for purposes of censorship is not acceptable.
Even as we celebrate, we know this proposal will be back when Congress returns next year. Website blocking is high on the entertainment industry's wishlist, and we'll need your help again to stop this in its tracks. Stay tuned to EFF.org for more actions you can take to protect your digital civil liberties!

Sincerely,
Shari Steele
Executive Director
